“ A big shout out to Paige for being an awesome server! Second to that… I have been to the restaurant two nights in a row. On the first night, I had the crispy salmon bowl with some extra tofu and on the second night I opted for the sushi rolls. Both were amazing! I would have never expected that the food and the service would be this great coming from a restaurant in a hotel. Definitely looking forward to my next stay and my next meal! ”

“ Came on a Friday night and it was fairly busy. The fellow serving me was great, super friendly and made sure he got my solo order in before a large table of 6 that was seated before me ordered, which I appreciated. I had the specialty burger that was available for burger month in Nelson. Food came in about 20 minutes which I felt was pretty standard. Best burger I've had in recent memory, really enjoyed it. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, maybe they've worked out some kinks since the summer time. I really liked Port701 and would come back. 5/5 Update: went back and had the sushi, which was surprisingly excellent. I would go here just for sushi, although they only offer specialty type rolls fyi. ”

“ So of the best mussels I’ve ever had and I grew up on the East Coast! Food is tasty, the patio has a great view the only issue would be the service. The staff are friendly enough but food and drinks take an unusually long time to arrive. I think there’s new management so I’m sure as time goes on this wrinkle will get sorted. I’d recommend any traveller through Nelson stop but and enjoy the experience ”

“ We were a bit hesitant because of previous reviews, but we were staying at the hotel and it was getting late. The food was very good and great value! Plenty of food for the price. We had a gentleman waiter and he was excellent and funny and very attentive. It was not too busy, but we were pleasantly surprised. I would not hesitate to come back. ”
